Goodwill® of Southern Arizona provides comprehensive Career Development services for all of our employees. Under this program, employees have access to individualized, one-on-one career development services through a full-time Employee Development Specialist who works tirelessly to make sure they provide the tools and resources needed to assist our employees to get to where they want to be.


Employee Development Program

Services are tailored to meet the needs of the employee and designed to assist the employee in advancing their career within Goodwill® Industries and/or to pursue career advancement opportunities outside of Goodwill® Industries.  Prior to becoming employed by Goodwill® Industries of Southern Arizona, over 85% of our employees were considered low-income individuals. Many of these employees face a wide variety of barriers to employment including: welfare dependency, long-term unemployment, ex-offender status, low academic skills, un-diagnosed disabilities, and the list goes on.

As a result, Goodwill® is committed to providing access to the programs and support our employees need in order to continue to better their lives through the power of employment. Career development services include but are not limited to:

  • Referral and funding assistance to attend Community College and/or other approved training programs
  • Overall career guidance and advice
  • Referral to appropriate day care,
  • Referral to ESL and/or GED classes, and
  • Referral to family counseling services
